About the event
Meet and greet with a hedgerow inspired snack or a shot of something wild and seasonal. There will also be a small exhibition of preserved wild products, a display of typical plants that are in season, reference and foraging guidebooks and information leaflets.
A walk around the land to learn about the edible, medical and usual properties of wild plants and native trees and how to identify the difference between edible and poisonous plants. Given the season there may also be a wild activity woven through the course workshop, such as making wild cordage.
Return to the cottage for a picnic. A sample menu would be Seabeet pakoras, wild soup shops, chickweed pate and crackers, Dukka bread and dipping oil, Dandelion pesto, kale crisps and a seasonal dessert (all season dependant).
