We’ve all seen the widespread plastic pollution problem on social media and on the TV. Every time we go to the beach, our multi-coloured strandline poses a stark reminder that our seas are rapidly filling up with plastic. Around half of the plastic created every year is single-use – meaning exactly that: designed to be used once, and then disposed of. And whilst our headquarters is a drop-off location for snack-packet recycling, our motto is always ‘Reduce is better than Recycle’ – and fewer crisps are better for you, after all!
This July, for the second year running, a team of staff here at NWWT are taking the challenge to not use any single-use plastic for a whole month – and we’ll be sharing some top tips and updates on how we’re getting along on social media! We’d love you to join us in our challenge – even if you can’t go plastic-free, why not challenge yourself to reduce the amount of plastic you use and tell us how you’re finding the experience?
Follow and talk to us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – and use #GoPlasticFreeNW to tell us how you’re getting on.
