Get involved!
If you would like to do something to help protect your local wildlife, we would love to hear from you!
Whether you like working indoors or out, there are lots of different volunteering opportunities available with North Wales Wildlife Trust.
The first step to volunteering is to register by completing our online form - we'll then be in touch to have a chat about the type of volunteering you would like to do.
As well as helping local wildlife, you can meet new people; keep fit; learn new skills; share your own experiences; increase your knowledge of wildlife conservation and of course, enjoy yourself! Whether you can spare a whole day or a few hours, the time you give makes a huge difference. Why not make a start right now?!

Other ways to volunteer
Public facing and event volunteering
Did you know we run or attend over 200 public facing events each year and have over 400 active conservation volunteers!
But not everyone wants to get their hands dirty on a reserve. We are looking for existing volunteers and new ones to assists us with some of these events and or be visible on some of our reserves as a point of contact with the trust.
If that’s something you may be interested in then please contact mark.roberts@northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk for more details.
Admin and office volunteering
If you prefer the comfort of working indoors, our Llys Garth headquarters in Bangor provides opportunities for more office-based volunteering. We are currently looking for people to help out in our reception and shop, as well as provide admin support for our staff. If you have office experience, or would like to learn some new skills, then perhaps this is the volunteer role for you.
Wildlife gardening volunteering
Anna & Iwan, our Education & Community Officers, work with local schools and community groups on wildlife gardening projects throughout North Wales. This may involve working with pupils to make their school grounds more wildlife-friendly or building a willow-dome in a local play area ... or many other things! These volunteering opportunities are more ad hoc but if you would like to get involved please register as a volunteer and we’ll get in touch when an opportunity arises in your local area.
Volunteering with your local group
Wherever you live in North Wales, there will be a North Wales Wildlife Trust Branch near you. These are run by volunteers who help to raise the profile of the Wildlife Trust in their local communities. They organise lots of wildlife-themed events and activities all throughout the year including guided walks, family fun days and talks by local experts. Why not go along to one of their meetings and get more involved? You’ll connect with local people who share a common interest in wildlife. Whether you’re a face-painter or a cake-baker, you may be just what your local Branch is looking for!
