Endangered Species & Wildlife Conservation

North Wales Wildlife Trust safeguards over 1,900 acres of land to ensure that the next generation can experience the wildlife-rich landscapes we enjoy today.  However, delivering these conservation programmes is an enormous undertaking - and we need your help!

Help with local wildlife conservation

North Wales Wildlife Trust is one of the most significant nature conservation bodies in the area

We manage over 1,900 acres of nature reserves: havens for rare and threatened species and habitats.  We give wildlife a voice, campaign on wildlife issues and focus on protecting local wildlife.

Help us to protect local wildlife.

The best way you can help protect local wildlife is through Wildlife Trust membership.  Our 5,800 members are critical to all the work we do protecting local wildlife - click here to learn more about membership and how you can get involved.

There are a whole range of other ways to help, too!  To find out more about how you can help us help local wildlife, visit our Support Us page.

Our Mission

We care for wildlife. We work for nature’s recovery. We bring people closer to nature.

Together, we:

  • Look after more than 700 hectares of wildlife-rich land: 36 nature reserves, covering the length and breadth of North Wales, open for all to visit
  • Work with other landowners, managers and communities to restore, recreate and reconnect fragmented natural habitats
  • Campaign for greater protection for our land and seas, in partnership with the largest voluntary organisation in the UK concerning all aspects of wildlife conservation, The Wildlife Trusts
  • Encourage families to get outdoors and engage with nature in their neighbourhoods through fun activities such as pond dipping, nestbox-making and building bug hotels
  • Support a North Wales-wide network of volunteers and members’ groups, inspiring people from varied backgrounds to take all sorts of practical action to protect their local wildlife
