Our friends at Cambrian Photography in Colwyn Bay have been helping us again by supplying us with 3 additional Hawke scopes to help us monitor and protect the ospreys up at Llyn Brenig.
The scopes will be used by our staff and volunteers and available for the public to use from our Osprey Lookout, which is open daily throughout the season 11-5 weather permitting.
The Lookout which was originally the visitor centre at the Dyfi Osprey project who gifted it to us in 2020 is having the finishing touches added to it, including electric and wifi to help us and the public enjoy these magnificent birds from a safe distance in comfort, on the shores of the lake.
LM6 and LJ2 have been doing a great job of incubating the 3 eggs on the nest over the past few weeks and we hope the first one will hatch around the 1st of June, which we are all really exciting about, so keep an eye on the live stream and maybe come up and see us.
Our mysterious intruder from the start of May we thought had moved on until we had another sighting today (25th May) but we have not had any more `Uber` style fish deliveries (see previous blog) and we still cant identify them.
The Brenig hide is also open, if you want a closer look at the birds. This has to be pre-booked through the Llyn Brenig website and a discount is available for North Wales Wildlife Trust members.
We also want to say a massive thank you to all the North Wales Wildlife Trust Volunteers who have been helping us this year, with 60 of them helping us protect and monitor the birds, including one in Hungary and another in New Zealand who watch online for us.
Thank you Cambrian Photography, our volunteers and members for supporting us. We couldn`t do it without you.
